Improving ergonomics and patient care in a medical setting. Leids University Medical Center (LUMC)

LUMC’s Clinical Oncology/Radiotherapy department, which operates five linear accelerators (LINACs), needed to migrate from legacy VGA to DVI and simplify a patchwork of control, monitoring and imaging workstations after installing a new accelerator. To modernize the environment and improve efficiency, LUMC engaged Black Box Network Services and chose the DKM FX HD Video and Peripheral Matrix Switching system.

Black Box Network Services implemented the DKM FX matrix switches and extenders, consolidating servers in a locked cabinet, reducing cabling and screens, and enabling one‑button switching between clinic and service modes. The deployment made rooms quieter and safer, improved ergonomics and management, allowed reconfiguration within minutes, and reduced clutter, heat and the risk of accidental disconnects—streamlining operations and supporting future expansion.
