Global networking services provider faced a very aggressive timeline to build an enterprise data center. Black Box Network Services was asked on short notice to deliver an 8,000 sq ft build-out—including cable pathways, supportive infrastructure, CAT6 and optical fiber cabling, and complete certification—with a hard completion date of April 22 after an RFP turnaround of less than 24 hours.

Black Box Network Services mobilized an account manager, two project managers, a site supervisor and a 22-person technician crew working 6 days/week to execute a top-to-bottom installation: custom 6" x 12" cable trays, under-floor cabling and struts, staging and bolting 144 server cabinets, and installation and certification of more than 6,000 CAT6 ports (2,592 cabinet-to-IDF, 2,976 switch, 288 management, 240 backbone). Technicians labeled and tested every run and performed a final cleanup; the project was completed on time and under budget, delivering certified infrastructure to support the customer’s network expansion.
