French television station operators in Strasbourg and Toulouse needed a way to directly transmit lossless HD video from mobile broadcast vans to air and to add digital signal switching and extension in new trucks. They required support for 60–80 devices in close quarters with mixed analog/digital signals, analog audio and USB extension, KVM-attached devices up to 500 m, 1920×1200 no-loss video quality and instantaneous switching. Black Box Network Services proposed a solution to meet these constraints.

Black Box Network Services implemented its DKM FX extension and switching platform, integrating the DKM HD video and peripheral matrix switch with engineering support, pre-staging, onsite commissioning and user/admin training. The system delivered no-loss 1920×1200 video, real-time switching, KVM extension to 500 m and reliable control of dozens of devices, and now two mobile media trucks broadcast news and TV shows directly to studios without interruption.
