Electric Utilities Company enables 4-user access to 16 servers with Black Box Network Services

India’s largest electric utility company needed to provide remote access to 16 critical servers and LVS machines from operator workstations. They required a reliable KVM matrix switching system for up to four users with support for HD video, user authentication, and the ability to extend signals over long distances. The company reached out to Black Box Network Services for a solution.

Black Box Network Services implemented a solution using its ServSwitch CX KVM switch and a custom setup featuring a Freedom KM switch with extenders. This provided secure remote access to the servers from 50 meters away and control of the LVS machines from over 40 meters. The results streamlined workflows and greatly increased productivity by allowing operators to perform all duties from their desks. The customer was so pleased with the outcome they plan to replicate the solution across other plants in India.
