Digital KVM Extension and Switching in German Airport Operations Center

German Airport needed to centralize and backrack server infrastructure to remove heat and noise from its operations control room while still delivering video wall feeds and multi‑screen access to operators. To meet requirements for 24/7 operation, central user management and both CATx and fiber connectivity, the airport engaged Black Box Network Services and its DKM FX HD Video and Peripheral Matrix Switching system.

Black Box Network Services implemented the DKM FX matrix with CATx and fiber transmitters in a central equipment room and receivers in the central and backup control rooms, providing HD/4K video, USB and audio extension, Glide & Switch mouse switching, power redundancy and instantaneous switching. The deployment enabled seconds‑level failover to a backup room, 24/7 reliable operation, easy expansion by adding receivers, and a quieter, cooler, more secure operator workplace with measurable gains in productivity and job satisfaction.
