Better patient monitoring for better patient outcomes. St. Jansdal Hospital

St. Jansdal Hospital, a regional Dutch hospital with a busy cardiology department, needed a way to continually monitor patients’ ECG/EKG outputs and make those live heart-monitor displays accessible from multiple locations across the facility. To solve this, St. Jansdal worked with Black Box Network Services and selected the DTX KVM extenders/IP video distribution solution to integrate with their existing central monitoring computers.

Black Box Network Services implemented DTX IP-based extenders and a DTX Control Appliance so ECG images and audio can be transmitted over the hospital network to multiple screens, with the ability to create extra workstations via keyboard/mouse connections. The system simplified installation, reduced costs, is highly scalable and low‑maintenance, and enabled the department to expand displays from four to seven locations while ensuring continuous access for clinicians.
