Erasmus University Rotterdam aligns business processes and information flows with BiZZdesign software

Erasmus University Rotterdam, a highly ranked international research university, faced the challenge of aligning the disparate business processes, information flows, and applications used by its seven autonomous faculties. This lack of standardization made organizational management complex and hindered decision-making. To address this, Information Manager Rob Menheere and his team sought a solution to create functional models that would connect these elements, and they selected the integrated process and architecture modeling software from vendor Bizzdesign.

The solution involved a step-by-step implementation of Bizzdesign's software, utilizing open standards like ArchiMate® and BPMN®, supported by workshops and training courses from Bizzdesign and their partner Bvolve. This approach provided the university with clear examples of success from within the organization, which improved collaboration and communication between faculties. Inspired by these first results, the teams are now motivated to build enterprise-wide models for business objects and applications, directly supporting the university's goals for innovation and alignment.
