Harrell’s LLC, a Lakeland, Florida–based producer and distributor of blended fertilizers and agronomic solutions with more than 250 employees, faced widespread gaps in supervisory and soft skills across its management ranks. Managers struggled with poor employee relationships, weak performance reviews, inconsistent interviewing and discipline practices, and general communication breakdowns, creating an urgent need for scalable manager training.

Harrell’s partnered with BizLibrary to launch a required Manager Training Program using on-demand video courses and custom content delivery; 52 managers—from entry supervisors to executives—were assigned one to two targeted courses monthly (field staff took courses online, office staff had classroom options). The program produced measurable engagement (54% of participants completed 100% of assigned courses; 71% completed at least 93%), stronger interviewing and hiring practices, higher-quality performance reviews, and noticeably improved manager–employee communication, with managers reporting better listening, coaching, counseling and mentoring.
