Liberty ARC, a chapter of a statewide advocacy organization serving people with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities, wanted a clearer way to analyze years of employee survey data that had become difficult to understand and manage. In 2010, its CEO reached out to Bivarus for help improving employee engagement measurement and making the data more useful for leadership.

Working with Bivarus, Liberty ARC adopted a new survey design to deliver more representative data, show statistical significance, and provide guidance on how to use the results. The approach helped Liberty ARC improve across several measures, including a 9.3% significant improvement in employee involvement, an 11.5% improvement in appreciation, and a 5.6% improvement in communications compared to 2012; participation also rose from 66.9% in 2014 to 80.8% in 2017. In 2017, Liberty ARC ranked in the 81st percentile in Bivarus’ database, with all survey indices and variables at or above the database mean.
