Case Study: Spectris achieves clearer risk visibility and prioritized remediation across its subsidiary and M&A network with BitSight SPM

A BitSight Case Study

Preview of the Spectris Case Study

Spectris leverages BitSight’s SPM solution to improve visibility of risk across M&A and subsidiary network

Spectris, a provider of high‑tech instruments with eight operating companies and about 7,650 employees, faced growing cybersecurity complexity from autonomous subsidiaries and ongoing M&A activity. With an expanding attack surface and too much noisy vulnerability data to prioritize, Spectris needed clearer, trusted visibility across its network and engaged BitSight’s Security Performance Management (SPM) solution.

BitSight delivered a “single pane of glass” using SPM (including Enterprise Performance and Remediation Strategy tools) to surface external‑facing risks, prioritize remediation, and benchmark progress. As a result, Spectris improved internal and external visibility, reduced open ports and updated ISP information (helping defend against the HAFNIUM breach), raised its BitSight rating over time, and now uses BitSight metrics monthly with operating company executives and the board to demonstrate measurable security improvements.
