Case Study: Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium achieves measurable national cyber risk reduction with BitSight

A BitSight Case Study

Belgium Government Partners with Bitsight to Measurably Reduce National Cyber Risk

The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB), Belgium’s national authority charged with coordinating and executing the country’s Cybersecurity Strategy 2.0, faced limited visibility into the nation’s cybersecurity posture and how it compared with other EU countries. To close that gap the CCB partnered with BitSight, deploying BitSight Security Ratings through a National Cybersecurity Application and working with BitSight Advisors to provide continuous, objective measurement and benchmarking.

BitSight provided near‑real‑time threat and vulnerability intelligence, enabling the CCB to monitor 144 organizations (with plans to nearly quadruple coverage), trigger "Spear Warning" alerts for rapid remediation, and evidence tangible improvements — a hospital raised its BitSight rating by more than 150 points after guidance, BitSight uncovered 2,500 open RDP access points, and alerts to a single provider closed 74% of those leaks. BitSight’s metrics also let the CCB brief the prime minister and parliament clearly, benchmark Belgium against other EU countries, and make data‑driven policy decisions.
