PULS 4, Austria’s leading private TV broadcaster and part of ProSiebenSat.1, needed a cost-efficient, on-demand live-streaming setup for several multi-hour events each month. They required reliable HD/Full HD delivery across desktops, tablets and smartphones with no buffering, the ability to use their own CDN, and a solution that avoided fixed infrastructure costs and a dedicated streaming team.

Bitmovin delivered a cloud-based solution: bitcodin ingests a 10 Mbps RTMP stream and encodes adaptive bitrates (250 kbps–3 Mbps) across resolutions from 240p to 1080p, scalable HTTP CDN distribution that supports PULS 4’s own CDN, and the bitdash HTML5/Flash player for smooth playback on all devices. The outcome is reliable, high-quality live webcasts on demand, reduced operational costs and no need for permanent streaming infrastructure or staff.
