Sonostream.tv is a web platform that livestreams operas, concerts and singing competitions. Their core challenge was to deliver highest-quality HD/Full HD video and audio without buffering, support desktops, tablets and smartphones, and reuse live content for future on‑demand use cases.

Bitmovin implemented a cloud-based workflow: bitcodin ingested a 10 Mbps RTMP feed and transcoded it to multiple bitrates (250 kbps–3 Mbps) and resolutions (240p–1080p), content was distributed via scalable HTTP CDNs, and playback was handled by bitdash (HTML5 HLS/DASH). The result: smooth, low‑startup, buffering‑free HD streaming across devices, global reach, easy on‑demand repurposing—and proven success with live HD events such as the Opernhaus Bonn stream.
