KRONEHIT, Austria’s only nationwide private radio broadcaster, needed a reliable, high‑quality solution to deliver 24x7x365 live video streaming for events and continuous programming. Their core challenges were always‑on MPEG‑DASH and HLS live encoding, full device and platform coverage (desktop, mobile, tablets, SmartTVs/HbbTV), and delivering Full HD video and high‑quality audio with consistent SmartTV support.
Bitmovin provided a cloud‑based transcoding platform and an HTML5/HLS/DASH player: the 10 Mbps RTMP feed was transcoded into multiple bitrates (250 kbps–3 Mbps) and resolutions (240p–1080p) in both MPEG‑DASH and HLS, distributed via scalable HTTP delivery, and played back with Bitmovin’s low‑latency, buffer‑optimized player. The result was successful 24/7 live streaming in highest quality across all devices — including SmartTVs — with smooth playback and minimal startup delay.
