The challenge was the absence of a qualified custodian capable of supporting both native EIGEN custody and the restaking of ETH, which was critical for meeting institutional requirements for security, compliance, and regulatory clarity.

To solve this, EigenCloud partnered with BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association. This integration allowed institutional clients to restake ETH directly from BitGo's secure cold storage, eliminating the need for multiple custodial transfers and reducing operational complexity. The solution provided institutions with secure, bankruptcy-remote custody and access to a curated list of vetted operators, enabling them to maximize rewards from their digital assets within a compliant framework.
