Financial Services Giant Secures Salesforce & Office 365

Financial Services Firm, a global investment and asset manager with over 6,000 employees, needed to rapidly deploy Salesforce and Office 365 while ensuring absolute data privacy and sole control of its customer information. As part of a CASB evaluation, the firm tested Bitglass’ cloud encryption and other capabilities to find a solution that preserved full Salesforce functionality (search, reporting, customizations, third‑party integrations) and supported secure BYOD without exposing data to cloud vendors.

Bitglass implemented its CASB and searchable cloud encryption with customer-held keys, providing dual control, broader encryption coverage, and real-time inline data protection (masking, blocking, encryption) across Salesforce and Office 365 (notably SharePoint and Yammer). The deployment enabled a secure, large-scale rollout to ~6,000 employees, retained full application functionality and APIs, delivered agentless protection for unmanaged devices, and allowed detection and remediation of PII/PIFI in real time—outperforming Salesforce Platform Encryption and eliminating vendor visibility into sensitive data.
