Tauernklinikum, an Austrian healthcare provider operating hospitals in Zell am See and Mittersill, faced missed malware detections and worsening network performance under its previous ESET solution, creating extra IT hours and potential risks to patient care. After evaluating Bitdefender, Avast and Kaspersky, Tauernklinikum selected Bitdefender GravityZone Elite for its layered protection, machine learning, sandbox testing and centralized, easy-to-use management interface.

Bitdefender deployed GravityZone Elite (including the Sandbox Analyzer) across 600 Windows workstations, 150 VMware virtual servers and 50 Android smartphones, protecting core systems like Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory and electronic medical records. As a result, Bitdefender immediately removed trojans missed by the prior solution, achieved 100% elimination of security outbreaks, reduced security-related tickets from 3–5 to 0–1 per month, significantly cut administrative workload, and increased network throughput from 1.4 to 9.5 Gbps (about 6×), while also helping with GDPR compliance and supplying extra licenses during COVID‑19 surges.
