Socorro Independent School District (SISD), which runs 47 schools and manages 26,000 endpoints across Windows, Linux and Mac environments, was struggling with malware, ransomware and excessive false positives from its Kaspersky Labs solution—issues that led to encrypted servers, a mass deletion of a desktop client on 4,000 machines, frequent breaches and heavy security administration overhead. Bitdefender’s GravityZone now protects 26,000 endpoints, 100 physical servers, 211 virtual servers and 6,000 Citrix virtual desktops; since deployment SISD has experienced zero security breaches in five months (vs. a couple per week before), cut security administration time by more than 90% (from ~2 hours/day to ~10 minutes), eliminated weekly security trouble calls, and restored responsive system performance during scans. The solution deployed in hours, centralized management onto a single server, and SISD plans to add Bitdefender Hypervisor Introspection for additional Citrix protection.
