Optima Italia becomes cyber resilient

Optima Italia, an Italian utilities and telecommunications provider, faced increased cyber risk when the pandemic forced employees to work from home. After running a proof of concept of managed detection and response solutions from Bitdefender, Crowdstrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft, Optima selected Bitdefender Managed Detection and Response Enterprise services; in testing Bitdefender detected, blocked, and resolved more than 99% of threats versus 50–80% for the other solutions and proved fastest and easiest to deploy.

Bitdefender deployed Bitdefender MDR across Optima’s environment, providing 24x7 SOC monitoring, threat hunting, sandboxing, endpoint risk analytics, and a cloud console protecting more than 800 endpoints (macOS, Linux, Windows, VMware) and critical applications like Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL Server. As a result, Optima reports increased employee confidence in cybersecurity, faster detection and resolution of threats, simplified and fewer security policies with easier extension to remote workers and mass-storage control, and the ability to recover from ransomware—backed by the measurable POC result (>99% threat remediation) and continuous protection of 800+ endpoints.
