Preview of the Kansas Development Finance Authority Case Study

Kansas public finance corporation keeps out ransomware with ease

Kansas Development Finance Authority (KDFA), the state’s public finance corporation, was struggling to protect sensitive financial and project data after multiple endpoint security failures. KDFA tried several antivirus and enhanced ransomware solutions but endured six ransomware infections in a 6–8 month period, with each incident causing 2–3 days of disruption, costly cleanups, and lost productivity. Concerned about ongoing breaches, KDFA turned to Bitdefender, deploying GravityZone Elite Security and Bitdefender Hypervisor Introspection.

Bitdefender implemented GravityZone Elite across physical laptops, servers and VDI and added Hypervisor Introspection for memory-level inspection of the Citrix Hypervisor; endpoints deployed in about five minutes and HVI was installed in minutes from the GravityZone Control Center. As a result, KDFA reported zero ransomware infections in the year following deployment, saved critical information during attacks, and reduced security administration time from 50% to 10%, while maintaining lightweight, high-performance protection.
