Case Study: ZAG Personal & Perspektiven achieves leaner, more accurate HR-data protection with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise

A Bitdefender Case Study

Preview of the ZAG Personal & Perspektiven Case Study

Human resource data highly protected with GravityZone

ZAG Personal & Perspektiven, a Hanover-based human resources provider with about 700 branch employees handling sensitive applicant and payroll records, needed a new antivirus solution when it migrated hundreds of local PCs to thin clients and a Citrix XenDesktop virtual environment. The previous AV caused poor detection and management and would have overloaded storage and MPLS links by scanning the same virtual memory; on the recommendation of partner Uzuner Systems, ZAG evaluated Bitdefender’s GravityZone Enterprise Security (GravityZone) to address these constraints.

Bitdefender implemented GravityZone’s lightweight agent-plus-scan-server model across ZAG’s environment (14 physical hosts, 15 Citrix terminal servers, ~150 other servers and 1,000+ Exchange mailboxes), moving scans to a separate Linux-based server. Bitdefender’s solution removed malware daily without impacting thin client or server performance, lowered false positives, avoided VMware vShield bottlenecks (a measurable performance boost), and met ZAG IT managers’ expectations—becoming the standard AV for all new client and server installs after more than three years in production.
