A Bitdefender Case Study
El Rancho Unified School District in Pico Rivera, California — serving 8,700 K–12 students with a centralized IT staff of eight — was struggling with an outdated antivirus solution that caused 15–20 minute startup delays, disruptive scans during class, and users installing freeware to compensate. After evaluating options, the district selected Bitdefender’s GravityZone Enterprise Security (with the GravityZone on‑premises management console) to bring centralized, lightweight endpoint protection to its heterogeneous fleet.
Bitdefender deployed GravityZone across more than 4,500 devices, removing legacy Symantec and Microsoft Defender agents and consolidating endpoints into a single domain managed from a central console. The result: startup times dropped to five minutes or less, an estimated 300% performance increase, trouble calls fell from 5–10 per day to essentially zero, typical ticket resolution time shrank from 30–60 minutes to under five minutes, and the district has experienced no virus, phishing or intrusion incidents in four years.
