Case Study: Trinity University achieves 95% fewer security incidents and 100% threat blocking with Bitdefender GravityZone

A Bitdefender Case Study

Preview of the Trinity University Case Study

Bitdefender keeps out ransomware, shrinks volume of security-related trouble tickets, and decreases endpoint licensing costs

Trinity University, a regional university in San Antonio, faced a critical security challenge after its previous Sophos deployment accidentally removed protection from 550 endpoints, caused slow workstations during scans, and struggled with VMware Horizon VDI updates. After evaluating multiple vendors, Trinity chose Bitdefender and deployed GravityZone Enterprise Security and GravityZone Business Security to protect its mix of Windows and Mac workstations, VMware vSphere servers, and Horizon virtual desktops.

Bitdefender’s GravityZone was rolled out across roughly 3,300 endpoints and virtual servers in days, delivering automated detection, remediation, and consolidated management. The deployment produced measurable results: a 95% drop in security-related trouble tickets, 100% threat-blocking success, a reported 100% improvement in endpoint performance, weekly security administration cut from 20–30 hours to 2–3 hours, and a 30% reduction in endpoint licensing costs; Bitdefender also quarantined targeted ransomware during a firewall outage and Trinity has experienced no breaches since implementation.
