Bitdefender helps protect the complex IT environment at the University of Bucharest

The University of Bucharest needed to secure a complex, Windows-heavy campus IT environment—one that supports research, student records and growing numbers of personal devices—but was hampered by several expiring, fragmented antivirus solutions, no centralized management, poor network visibility and inconsistent security policies. To address this, the University turned to Bitdefender, evaluating and deploying Bitdefender On-Premise Business Solution v3.5 and running a Bitdefender Cloud Security proof-of-concept to find a lighter, centrally managed approach.

Bitdefender implemented On-Premise Business Solution v3.5 (with Client Security v3.5 modules) and Cloud Security capabilities to provide centralized management, auditing and a network inventory of OS, hardware and licenses, while optimizing endpoint resource use. The result was a high detection rate, streamlined administration—remote, mass actions like install/uninstall, process control and reboot—and effective protection across more than 1,300 endpoints, significantly reducing IT admin time and improving network visibility.
