Case Study: W&W Informatik GmbH achieves faster virtualized server performance and higher infrastructure ROI with Bitdefender GravityZone

A Bitdefender Case Study

Preview of the W&W Informatik GmbH Case Study

Advanced cybersecurity yields efficiency gains for W&W Informatik

W&W Informatik GmbH, the central IT provider for the Wüstenrot & Württembergische Group, was struggling with performance and management issues from its existing antimalware across a fast-growing VMware vSphere virtualized server estate. After evaluating options at VMworld and running proofs of concept, W&W selected Bitdefender’s GravityZone Enterprise Security to remove the security-induced performance penalty while implementing a multilayer antimalware concept.

Bitdefender deployed GravityZone (including Security for Virtualized Environments and endpoint/physical server protection), centrally protecting 2,700 Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtualized servers plus 40 physical Windows servers, with VM counts fluctuating between 2,300–2,700. The result: reduced CPU and disk overhead and faster application performance, increased virtualization density and easier scaling via CPU-based licensing, automated compliance workflows, and—over five years—100% protection against ransomware and other attacks, improving infrastructure ROI and cutting security management time.
