Preview of the Sitka Dock App Case Study

Sitka Dock App improves booking flow and real-time availability with BitCot

Sitka Dock App (Sitka Doc App) needed to build a seamless shuttle booking system for cruise passengers but faced the challenge of integrating two separate GraphQL APIs, which risked creating bottlenecks and race conditions that could lead to double bookings. The vendor, BitCot, was tasked with creating a resilient cross-platform app that could handle these complex integrations and function reliably even with network failures.

BitCot developed a React Native app using Expo that implemented dual Apollo Clients to orchestrate the two distinct GraphQL endpoints. Their solution featured a reservation lock mechanism to prevent race conditions and network-aware handling for improved offline resilience. This resulted in a streamlined booking flow with faster load times, reduced API call failures, and ultimately higher user satisfaction for Sitka Dock App's customers.
