Parrot Chooses Bishop Fox for Privacy Audit and Application Penetration Testing

Parrot, the leading European drone manufacturer, needed independent verification that its FreeFlight 6 mobile app and associated web APIs matched the company’s privacy guarantees and met regulatory requirements (including GDPR and other international standards). To substantiate those claims and build customer and enterprise trust, Parrot engaged Bishop Fox for a privacy audit, product security review, and application penetration testing, including a source-code review.

Bishop Fox performed tailored offensive-security testing of FreeFlight 6 on iOS/Android and its web APIs, confirming the app and APIs were predominantly secure: no hidden features or obfuscation, no backtracing, proper authorization checks, input sanitization to prevent SQL injection, and only flight data stored with user consent. Bishop Fox delivered tactical and strategic recommendations and a public report, enabling Parrot to validate its “privacy by design” promise and strengthen regulatory compliance and customer trust.
