Illumio engaged Bishop Fox to measure the effectiveness of its Illumio Core Zero Trust Segmentation platform in helping blue teams detect and contain a ransomware attack. The challenge was to determine if modern approaches could protect dynamic, hybrid IT environments from active ransomware threats that use common tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Bishop Fox executed a ransomware scenario emulation to test the solution. The vendor validated that Illumio's Zero Trust Segmentation rendered attackers ineffective in less than 10 minutes and effectively complemented endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, preventing a breach from becoming a full-scale cyber disaster.
