BigVoice Media Leverages BirdDog PTZ Cameras to Overcome the Elements at Australian Swimming Championships

BigVoice Media Group, a production company, faced the challenge of broadcasting the 2021 Australian Swimming Championships live to Amazon Prime Video. The entirely outdoor event was threatened by constant heavy rain, requiring a production solution with cameras that could perform reliably in wet and challenging weather conditions. They turned to BirdDog for a solution using their weatherproof PTZ cameras.

BirdDog provided its A200 and P200 PTZ cameras, which featured rain wipers, anti-fog capabilities, and water resistance. This allowed the production to proceed for 13 days without any weather-related stoppages. The cameras delivered the high picture quality required by Amazon Prime Video, with six BirdDog systems forming the core of a 10-camera hybrid NDI/SDI setup. The successful broadcast ensured the event met all quality expectations and showcased the advantages of BirdDog's networked NDI feeds for flexible routing.
