Southland Park Gaming and Racing Automates to the Finish Line

Southland Park Gaming & Racing, part of Delaware North Companies, is a long-running gaming and racing destination with over 1,500 gaming machines, restaurants, bars, concession stands and a race track in West Memphis, Arkansas. Facing heavily manual purchasing, accounting, inventory and food‑system processes that relied on spreadsheets, the property sought a single cloud-based solution and in 2013 selected BirchStreet Systems to automate procure-to-pay across the enterprise.

BirchStreet Systems implemented a staged rollout of its procure-to-pay platform—eProcurement (with supplier punch-outs), AP automation (3-way auto-match), Inventory Control and Recipe Management—centralizing purchasing, invoices and inventory. The solution cut manual purchase orders to five per month, reduced month-end close by two days, saved about three hours of daily labor and eliminated roughly 90% of the previous manual transfer process, while enabling perpetual inventory counts, better vendor tracking and faster reactions to food-cost fluctuations.
