Bam Shoreham Viaduct Implement Biosite for Security, Fire and First Aid System

BAM used Biosite Systems to help improve safety and control access on the Shoreham Viaduct project, where knowing exactly who was on site was critical in the event of an emergency. The challenge was to manage worker and visitor induction, site security, and emergency readiness across a complex bridge construction environment.

Biosite Systems supplied and installed a biometric fingerprint turnstile and a broader security, fire, and first aid system with health questionnaires, CSCS card scanning, emergency call points, motion sensors, and infrared cameras. The solution provided real-time personnel roll calls, clearer emergency response for fire and first aid, and out-of-hours site monitoring, with BAM noting the system should become a standard because it “covers all bases.”
