A large Southeastern Regional Health Plan Service Provider faced an unexpected challenge when a significant portion of its 8,600 Medicare Advantage members suddenly counted toward 2018 quality ratings. To protect its 4-star status and close colorectal cancer screening gaps, the plan partnered with BioIQ and pursued a zero-cost, at-home CRC screening program using FIT kits.
BioIQ rapidly launched a targeted, personalized outreach campaign with FIT kits that members could complete at home in about five minutes. The program achieved a 24% return rate in less than one month—about 2.5 times higher than many reported industry experiences—and follow-up phone, email, and text outreach helped drive additional returns, improving engagement and supporting better HEDIS and Star Ratings performance.
