Avista, a utilities company based in Spokane, Washington, needed a more cost-effective way to run its employee wellness program after budget cuts forced it to scale back on-site health screenings and other initiatives. To keep offering meaningful wellness benefits to its 1,600 active employees and 900 retirees, Avista turned to BioIQ for a more affordable biometric screening solution, including At-Home test kits and an online health risk assessment (HRA).

BioIQ implemented a seamless screening program that combined an A1c test with a full lipid panel, plus integrated HRA data and personal health records through a secure online platform. The approach improved convenience, preserved confidentiality, and drove strong participation: 90% of registered employees completed both the HRA and blood test. Avista also validated BioIQ’s lab accuracy with physician testing and credited BioIQ with helping renew employee engagement in preventive care.
