Gulf International Bank (GIB) sought a multifactor authentication solution to meet New York State Department of Financial Services cybersecurity requirements for two-factor authentication. To address this compliance challenge, BIO-key introduced ID Director for Windows, paired with a PIV-PRO fingerprint scanner, to provide secure biometric authentication for the bank’s New York operations.

BIO-key’s solution let employees enroll fingerprints linked to their Active Directory credentials, enabling biometric sign-in or use of the existing login method. The implementation was deemed successful by branch management, and GIB is now planning broader deployment across the organization to strengthen security, protect shared workstations, and streamline access through one-touch biometric authentication.
