Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC) is a statewide membership organization that manages repairs and billing for serialized electrical equipment and averages over 1,000 service tickets per month. TEC’s Great Plains Service Call Management module created a separate invoice for each ticket, producing hundreds of invoices per customer and overwhelming TEC’s accounting staff — so TEC engaged Binary Stream to customize Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains to consolidate billing.

Binary Stream modified the SOP module (now sold as Sales Document Consolidation™) to merge multiple service tickets into a single customer invoice by name, PO number, and address, and streamlined cash-receipt application. The change cut days of monthly invoice processing, simplified accounts receivable work, dramatically reduced repetitive labor and delivered a return on investment within three months, according to TEC.
