Global Retail Technology Provider Finds True Partnership With Binary Defense

National Cash Register (NCR), the global enterprise technology leader for restaurants, retailers and banks, faced the risk that a cyberattack on its complex, multi-customer environment could disrupt services and undermine customer trust. To address this, NCR engaged Binary Defense for continuous security operations, including Binary Defense SIEM, a 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (SOC) and proactive threat hunting services.

Binary Defense implemented around-the-clock monitoring of log data and 34,000 endpoints, tuned the SIEM, and performed threat hunting that uncovered a malicious script and a new malware variant before they could cause damage. As a result, Binary Defense helped remediate incidents, enabled preventative measures, and delivered measurable protection—preventing malicious activity from doing damage while acting as an extension of NCR’s security team.
