The City of Atlanta’s Citywide Performance Delivery group needed to replace an expensive, hard-to-use legacy BI system and modernize reporting across 18 departments so employees and leaders could analyze key metrics quickly and cost-effectively. The mandate was to find an easy-to-implement, self-service solution that would put dashboards and insights into the hands of several hundred analysts and city officials.

After a hackathon demo, Atlanta chose cloud BI provider BIME Analytics for its affordability, ease of use and Dropbox connector; the platform was up and running in days. The city now ingests about 300 monthly metrics, lets analysts drill into KPIs, produces a concise monthly two-page heat map for leadership, and is preparing to publish performance dashboards for citizens.
