A BIM Track Case Study
COWI, a leading consulting group, faced significant coordination challenges on the "World's Best Digital Construction Project," the new Stavanger University Hospital. Managing extremely large models and thousands of issues across nearly 100 contracts was intensified by an aggressive design/construction schedule. They needed a more efficient method for interdisciplinary coordination, issue tracking, and documentation, as their previous process using BCF files and Excel was error-prone and lacked visibility. To solve this, the project owner required the use of BIM Track.
The solution implemented by BIM Track centralized all issue management, allowing the team to see the status of every issue at a glance. Using the BIM Track platform and its integration with Solibri’s BCF Live Connector, COWI could publish, assign, and track issues directly from the federated model. This streamlined their weekly coordination meetings and enabled them to generate documentation reports as a key project deliverable. BIM Track provided the team with increased visibility, simplified documentation, and saved significant time in managing the complex design coordination.
