Case Study: RTE accelerates high-voltage substation BIM modeling with BIM&CO Onfly

A BIM&CO Case Study

Preview of the RTE Case Study

How Rte ensures the continuity of the power grid through reliable data

RTE, a key player in the energy sector in France, faced a major challenge in digitizing its vast network of high-voltage substations. The company's existing plans were in various outdated formats like paper sketches and PDFs, making it difficult to get a reliable and clear overview of the network for maintenance and engineering. To standardize this process, RTE launched the JUMP project and turned to vendor BIM&CO and its Onfly solution to centralize and manage its BIM content.

BIM&CO implemented its Onfly platform as a centralized library for all BIM objects, which allowed RTE to separate and standardize product data from 3D geometry. This structured process enabled RTE to maintain strict quality control and halve its modeling time. As a result, RTE has created 2,500 objects in Onfly and modeled over 100 substations, significantly accelerating production, reducing costs, and providing reliable digital plans to ensure the continuity of the national power grid.
