LiveTV Satellite Communications, LLC, a subsidiary of LiveTV and a leading provider of in-flight entertainment and connectivity, needed a fully automated billing solution for its LiveAero high-speed data and telephony satellite services. Faced with TAP02-formatted satellite usage data, complex rating and billing rules, inventory tracking and SAP reporting requirements, LiveTV issued an RFP and selected BillingPlatform to deliver a customized, cloud-based, metadata-driven billing and customer management system.

BillingPlatform implemented a complete solution in under two months that included Iridium usage collection and mediation, custom product catalog and tiered rate plans, automated invoicing, AR/dunning, SAP and Bill Soft integrations, and inventory/provisioning tied to aircraft equipment. The result: LiveTV had production billing and could produce and charge invoices within the first two months, avoided upfront software/hardware investment via BillingPlatform’s pay-as-you-go model with tiered revenue-based pricing, and gained faster time-to-market, global access and scalable operations with measurable ROI and reduced implementation risk.
