DirecTV Ad Sales (DirecTV) needed a modern, flexible billing solution to monetize millions of targeted ad buys daily and to support massive data volumes across TV and digital inventory. Faced with multiple disparate billing systems and complex buyer/seller relationships, the team sought a single cloud-native platform for billing, collections, accounts receivable and credit management — and selected BillingPlatform for its out-of-the-box configuration and native Salesforce compatibility.
BillingPlatform migrated DirecTV’s billing and collections onto one scalable platform, integrated CCH SureTax and the AR subledger, and enabled business analysts to configure workflows while IT self-manages the system. As a result, DirecTV moved about $1.7B of revenue onto the platform in year one (now averaging $75M/month with peaks over $100M), reduced billing and close processing from two weeks to under 20 minutes, cut campaign spin-up from 2–3 months with 8–10 people to one day with one person, and realized $3–9M in annual cost savings.
