CIAL, part of the global D&B network serving millions of corporate clients across 43 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, wanted to move to a subscription business while still supporting clients who needed one-off purchases inside a single multi-currency system with automated invoicing and granular reporting. CIAL engaged Billforward to provide a subscription billing solution capable of handling both recurring and ad‑hoc transactions.
Billforward implemented a dual-function subscription and ad‑hoc billing platform with multi-currency automated invoicing, variable pricing by currency, and metered billing with monthly rollovers to introduce credit facilities. The approach encouraged migration to subscriptions without alienating single-purchase customers, improved billing efficiency and reporting, and—according to CIAL’s CTO—“added significantly to our bottom line” by driving higher subscription adoption.
