How SF New Deal streamlines small business support with BILL

SF New Deal, a nonprofit launched in 2020 to support San Francisco’s local restaurants and small businesses, needed a faster, more efficient way to distribute grant funds and manage payments at scale. The organization used BILL, including BILL Accounts Payable, to streamline grant disbursements and reduce long payment delays that had stretched from 30 days to several months for some recipients.

With BILL, SF New Deal cut average payment time by more than half, processed 2,413 payments totaling $8.49 million in 2023, and distributed 525 grants across the city. BILL also helped SF New Deal close its books about three days faster, import batches of payments quickly into QuickBooks, and improve audit visibility and fraud protection.
