Wedlake Bell, a UK law firm with 59 partners and over 170 lawyers and support staff, faced slow dictation turnaround and relied on an overflow typing resource. To speed up transcription and free secretarial time for higher‑value work, the firm selected BigHand and implemented BigHand Speech Recognition following an upgrade to BigHand Version 5.

BigHand ran a 15‑user pilot that scaled to 65 users and deployed BigHand Speech Recognition plus BigHand SmartNote firm‑wide. The BigHand solution cut average task turnaround by 39.87% (2017–2018), delivered a 49.89% increase in efficiency from April 2017 to February 2018, reduced overflow typing by one‑third, and freed support staff for more valuable duties, with further roll‑out and BigHand Now planned.
