A BigHand Case Study
Kingsley Napley, a London-based top 100 law firm, needed to respond to rising client expectations for faster, more mobile legal services and to deploy its skilled support staff more effectively. To meet that challenge the firm partnered with BigHand, building on a long-standing deployment of BigHand Digital Dictation and BigHand Go and later piloting BigHand Speech Recognition.
BigHand’s solution—digital and mobile dictation plus speech recognition—cut dictation turnaround by 68% in a six-week proof of concept and achieved 97.56% accuracy. Kingsley Napley has progressed to a phased rollout (35 Fee Earners using speech recognition regularly, 35 in training), with some users routing 94–96% of their dictations through speech recognition and overall usage around 30–35%, and is exploring BigHand Now and Capacity Manager to digitise 30–40 manual processes. BigHand’s technology and support enabled faster document production, greater mobility and the redeployment of secretarial staff to higher‑value work.
