Fletcher Day drives cost savings and improves efficiency with BigHand Now

Fletcher Day, a 60‑strong mid-sized law firm with offices in London and Manchester, faced rising client expectations for faster turnaround while needing to keep overheads low and gain better visibility of who was handling centrally submitted tasks. To address these challenges the firm turned to BigHand, upgrading to BigHand Now and introducing BigHand Speech Recognition to improve task delegation, reporting and fee‑earner self‑sufficiency.

BigHand implemented BigHand Now to route and track tasks and deployed speech recognition for selected fee earners, giving Fletcher Day transparency, equitable workload allocation and billing clarity. Since the BigHand Now go‑live (May 2018) average task turnaround fell from over 30 hours to 12 hours, the firm avoided replacing secretarial roles (a 50% reduction through attrition), removed an outsourced secretary and realised direct cost savings while improving operational efficiency.
