U2 Cloud, a cloud service provider based in Florida, sought to deliver a new Workspace-as-a-Service (WaaS) offering that aligned with its brand promises of agility, reliability, and reduced cost. Their challenge was to build a scalable networking solution that could integrate seamlessly with their core VMware vSphere technology to support elastic customer workloads and enable 24x7 support.

The vendor, Big Switch Networks, implemented its Big Cloud Fabric solution using Dell Open Networking switches. This SDN-based fabric provided seamless integration with VMware vSphere, giving U2 Cloud a centralized view for easy provisioning and management. The results included the ability to run over 20 vCenter instances on a unified fabric, enhanced visibility for their support team, and a greater than 50% reduction in overall TCO compared to a legacy infrastructure.
