Tier-1 US Service Providing Company faced the challenge of scaling a highly demanding NFV deployment on OpenStack while maintaining resiliency, flexibility, security, and low operational complexity. Big Switch Networks, working alongside Red Hat and Dell, provided SDN and network visibility technology as part of the solution, including Big Cloud Fabric and Big Monitoring Fabric.

Big Switch Networks implemented a validated leaf-spine CLOS fabric with centralized SDN control, automated OpenStack integration, and integrated monitoring and security for east-west and north-south traffic. The result was the industry’s largest NFV infrastructure deployment to date, with stress testing that survived 640 forced network failures in under 30 minutes with no impact to workload performance, plus faster troubleshooting and easier upgrades and expansion.
