Big Cloud Fabric P+V Solution Validation with OpenStack

Ciii’s CloudLabs team needed a way to streamline customer cloud projects and validate integrated rack-scale solutions for demanding scale-out workloads. The challenge was to test a multivendor software-defined networking stack for private cloud use cases, including OpenStack integration, while ensuring performance, resiliency, and easier operations. Big Switch Networks’ Big Cloud Fabric was selected for the validation effort.

Big Switch Networks implemented and validated a Big Cloud Fabric P+V solution integrated with OpenStack across a 2-rack lab, using controller nodes, switch nodes, and tools like Packstack and Mirantis Fuel 6.1. Over a 3-month test program, Ciii reported issues and user-experience feedback that helped Big Switch Networks improve the product; the validation confirmed easy deployment and full functionality across use cases such as tenant isolation, floating IPs, throughput, and failure recovery.
