Beyond 12 is a technology-based organization focused on helping low-income and first-generation students graduate from U.S. colleges and universities. As the organization aimed to scale beyond its current coaching capacity of about 2,000 students per year, it needed a better way to assess student risk, prioritize coach attention, and give partner institutions useful insights into alumni outcomes. Big Squid, Inc. provided the Kraken platform to support this challenge.

Using Big Squid, Inc.’s Kraken platform, Beyond 12 is building an in-house predictive analytics model that can identify which students need help most and when. The solution gives coaches, the MyCoach app, and colleges a clearer view of student needs so they can deliver the right support at the right time. While no specific numerical results were reported, the case study highlights improved ownership, faster model updates, and a scalable analytics capability for Beyond 12.
